Karthik Madhavan, MD, FAANS

Dr. Karthik Madhavan is a board-certified neurosurgeon (American Board of Neurological Surgery, 2023) and fellowship-trained spine surgeon. He completed his neurological surgery residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident (2019 – 2020) and completed a two-year fellowship in complex deformity and minimally invasive spine (MIS) surgery. He previously practiced as a spine neurosurgeon and clinical instructor at Sanford Medical Center / University of North Dakota (2020 – 2023).
His work spans minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgery, adult spinal deformity, enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS), ambulatory spine surgery, augmented reality and robotics in spine care, and spinal cord injury. He holds national leadership roles with the North American Spine Society, including co-chairmanship of the Section on Robotics, Enabling Technology and Minimally Invasive Surgery (REMi), and serves on the editorial board of World Neurosurgery.
